Methodology

How the WhatsApp API calculator works.

TrueCostKit is a planning tool, not a quoting engine. It makes the cost inputs visible so you can compare setups before you speak to a provider or commit engineering time.

What the calculator includes

  • Reference per-message inputs for selected recipient markets and message categories.
  • A message-volume calculation for direct Cloud API cash cost.
  • An illustrative managed-inbox example: a monthly base plan plus additional seats.
  • A custom-rate field, so you can use your current official rate-card value.

What it does not include

  • Real-time Meta rates, volume tiers, taxes, discounts or account-specific terms.
  • Your provider's exact pricing, markups, onboarding charges or contract commitments.
  • Engineering, support, compliance or campaign-operations labour costs.

How to use it responsibly

Use the results to decide what to investigate next, rather than treating them as a final quote. Before purchasing, replace the reference input with the rate that applies to your account and compare it with the provider's current offer.

The primary source for the Meta message model is Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform pricing page. For the calculation logic and a first estimate, return to the WhatsApp API pricing calculator.
